Day 1
Pickup from the Airport . Transfer to a Hotel in Colombo. Colombo Shopping (Optional).
Day 2
After breakfast leave for Ratnapura the “Gem city” where we get to see a gem museum (maybe even a Gem mine). Then proceed to Sinharaja forest reserve via Kalawana. Sinharaja Forest, a world heritage nature site. This is Sri Lanka’s most beautiful and biggest rain forest situated close to Ratnapura and is surrounded by the villages of Rakwana , Deniyaya, and Mathugama. Sinharaja is a home to a large variety of indigenous plants and animals, flowing rivers and silent streamlets and the extent cover up nearly 11000 hectares. Over 130 bird species are found here including many of the 33 species endemic to Sri Lanka. There is also a rich reptile population and myriads of insect species, many yet to be classified. Mammals seen here include the purple faced Langur monkey and the giant squirrel. Sinharaja is also the home for the elusive leopard. Overnight stay in Sinharaja.
Day 3
Proceed to Uda walawe National Park; Uda Walawe National Park is famous for Elephants. Overnight stay at Uda walawe National Park.
Day 4
Go on a Safari in Uda walawe National Park in the morning. In the afternoon proceed to Yala National Park overnight stay in Yala
Day 5
After breakfast go onthe Yala National Park Safari. This is the most popular wild life sanctuary where one gets to see large herds of elephants, spotted deer, sambur, barking deer, monkey, wild Boer, wild buffalo, sloth bear, and wide varieties of bird species native and migratory. Witness the majestic peacock performing its mating dance with its colorful plumes spread. Leave for Unawatuna. Overnight stay in Galle
Day 6
Relax in Galle. Tour the historic Galle fort which is also a world heritage site. Wander through the old buildings of the fort which dates back to 1587 when the Portuguese took Galle from the Singhalese kings.
Day 7
Proceed to Balapitiya go on a Boat excursion on Madhu River. Overnight stay in Hotel in Wadduwa/ Bentota
Day 8
Leave for Colombo. Along the coastal line visit the Turtle Hatchery in Kosgoda. Check in to a Hotel in Wadduwa. /Bentota
Day 9
Departure from Katunayake International Air port
