Meet at the Airport Transfer to a Hotel in Colombo.
Leave for Elephant orphanage in Pinnawela in time for the feeding of elephants. Witness the bottle-feeding of orphaned baby Elephants, Elephants bathing and frolicking in the river after their meal.
Leave for Sigiriya in the afternoon and Stay overnight in Sigiriya. The King Kassapa built the Sigiriya Rock fortress in 5th century AD also known as the Lion rock the king’s palace was on top of the rock with water ponds etc. Marvel the world famous frescoes on the wall depicting goddesses from heaven.
Leave for Kandy, Visit a Spice Garden en route. Kandy was the capital of the Last kingdom of Singhalese Kings, Undoubtedly the most beautiful city in the Island.
Drive around the Kandy Lake built by the last king Sri Wickramarajasinghe in 1806; visit the Kandy town bazaar, the arts and the crafts center and a gem museum and lapidary. Late afternoon witness a cultural dance show. In the evening visit the temple of the tooth relic and see the offerings are made by the devotees.
Leave to Peradeniya Railway station, and board the train and leave for Nuwara Eliya. Enjoy the picturesque journey from your Observation carriage, the train snaking its way through the mountains through the tea country. The car will follow you to Nanu Oya, the last station before Nuwara Eliya. Proceed by the car to Nuwara Eliya.
In the afternoon wander though the trails of British colonial era with buildings ranging from Georgian to Queen Anne, Golf course with 18 holes, the hill club of the English Tea Planters Nuwara Eliya which is located in the center of Sri Lanka is 6200 feet above sea level with a weather soft and cool .Nuwara Eliya was the hill station as the British called it and you could see nostalgia of the British Colonial era.
Visit Horton plains, trek the 9 Km walk to the Worlds end, where the hill plunges dramatically for near 1700 m offering marvelous view of to the South. On your return see Bakers fall Return to Nuwara Eliya. Relax in the Hotel. Stay overnight in Nuwara Eliya.
Visit Haggala Gardens in the Morning and proceed to Ella. Visit Sita Amman Kovil on the way and visit Ravana falls. Stay overnight in Elle Go on a trek in Ella.
10 km from Nuwara Eliya. An ornamental garden associated with the Hindu epic Ramayana it is a scenic place with paths, shrubbery, ferneries, shady groves, lush foliage and flowers. The rose garden with over 100 varieties in full bloom is breath taking. The Haggala Garden is legendary. It was once the pleasure garden of Ravana of the Ramayana epic and according to many; it was one of the places where beautiful Sita was hidden by the demon king. The present botanical gardens were founded in 1860 by the eminent British botanist Dr. G.H.K. Thwaites.
The small town has a long history involving Rama and Ravana of the Indian epic Ramayana. It was in Ella where King Ravana held Queen Sita imprisoned until she was rescued by Prince Rama. Every water fall, rock , stream is named after Sita and Ravana. Ella surpasses all other places in sheer spectacular scenic beauty.
Proceed to Uda Walawe. Go on a Half day Safari in Uda Walawe Wild life Sanctuary which is famous for sighting Elephants even midday in addition to 39 species of mammals and 183 species of birds. Stay the Night in Uda Walawe.
Leave for Galle Visit Mulkirigala Temple en route Tour Galle City and Visit the historic Galle fort which is a world heritage site. Wander through the old buildings of the fort with a history dating back to 1587 when the Portuguese took Galle from the Singhalese kings.
Stay overnight in Galle/ Unawatuna.
Mulkirigala is an imposing rock with remarkable cave temples. This enormous boulder known as ‘little Sigiriya” rises almost perpendicularly for over 200 meters out of the surrounding palm forest. Mulkirigala consists of a series of rock temples carved out of the face of a huge rock outcrop built in the 2nd Century. B.C. Mulkirigala is a Buddhist temple complex that ascends and crowns the rock. It is a temple of great antiquity with fine murals.
Leave for Wadduwa. Make trip on the Madhu River and Proceed to Wadduwa visiting a Turtle Hatchery in Kosgoda.
