Day 1
Meet at the Airport Check in to a Hotel in Colombo.
Day 2
Leave for Pinnawela Elephant orphanage in time for feeding. Spend some time watching the Orphaned baby elephants being fed and the elephants bathing and frolicking in the water after their meal. The elephant orphanage is the first of its kind and these elephants would have perished if not for the orphanage.
Leave for Dambulla and visit Dambulla cave Temples dating back to 1st century B.C. Marvel the beautiful Ceiling paintings over 2000 years old. Proceed to Sigiriya for the night.
Day 3
In the morning climb Sigiriya rock fortress built by the King Kassapa in the 5th Century BC. Sigiriya is considered the 8th Wonder of the World by renowned historians. Marvel the world famous Sigiriya frescoes water ponds built on top of the rock.
Afternoon go on a safari in the Minneriya park famous for herds of wild Elephants. Dinner and overnight stay in Sigiriya
Day 4
Tour Anuradhapura the first Capital of Sri Lanka founded in 5th century BC and is considered as the cradle of Sri Lanka’s civilization. Anuradhapura has the worlds largest archeological sites. Dinner and overnight stay in Sigiriya.
Day 5
After breakfast visit the mediaeval capital of Polonnaruwa. (11th century &12 century) Polonnaruwa was the Capital after fall of Anuradhapura. See the ruins of once a beautiful city fortified with three concentric walls, parks, gardens, and many shrines.
After lunch leave for Kandy the capital of the last kingdom of Singhalese Kings, Undoubtedly the most beautiful city in the Island. Visit the Herbal and Spice garden en rout.
Day 6
Drive around the Kandy Lake built by the last king Sri Wickramarajasinghe in 1806; visit the Kandy town bazaar, the arts and the crafts center and a gem museum and lapidary. Late afternoon witness a cultural dance show. In the evening visit the Temple of Tooth relic and see the offerings made by the devotees. Night stay in Kandy.
Day 7
Morning after breakfast visit the Peradeniya Botanical Gardens established in 1821 is easily one of the best of its kind in the world. Afternoon proceed to Nuwara Eliya visiting a Tea Factory en route. Go on a city tour in Nuwara Eliya in the evening. Stay overnight in Nuwara Eliya.
Day 8
Visit Horton plains in the morning. Drive through the desolate plateau set at an elevation of over 2134 meters from the sea level. A world apart from rest of Sri Lanka the plains offer excellent trekking including a circular 9 km walk to the Worlds end, where the hill plunges dramatically for near 1700 m offering marvelous view of to the South. After lunch leave for Ella Visit Sita Amman Kovil and visit the Ravana falls in Ella. Stay overnight in Ella.
Ella
The small town has a long history involving Rama and Ravana of the Indian epic Ramayana. It was in Ella where King Ravana held Queen Sita imprisoned until she was rescued by Prince Rama. Every water fall, rock , stream is named after Sita and Ravana. Ella surpasses all other places in sheer spectacular scenic beauty.
Day 9
Leave for Yala after Breakfast, Yala National Park is the most popular National park where you can see most of the animals found in Sri Lanka. Go on a Safari in the Afternoon. Stay overnight in Yala.
Day 10
Leave for Galle and visit the historic Galle fort which is a world heritage site. Wander through the old buildings of the fort with a history dating back to 1587 when the Portuguese took Galle from the Singhalese kings. Overnight stay in Unawatuna/ Galle.
Day 11
Leave for Wadduwa. Go on excursion on Madhu river. Overnight stay in Wadduwa; visit a Turtle Hatchery on the way.
Day 12
Relax in a Beach Resort in Wadduwa / Bentota.
Day 13
Relax in Wadduwa.
Day 14
Leave for Airport for Departure.
